Farida Kamalova was born in 1946 in Chelkanovo village of Buraevsky region in Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1974, she graduated from the Sculpture department of Savitsky Art College in Penza. She lived and worked in Ufa.

Kamalova was a member of the Artysh art collective. In 1995, she became a member of the Artists Union of Russian Federation.

She passed away in 2004 in Ufa.
