ALINA IZMAYLOVA

1992
Born in 1992 in Ufa. Graduated from the Geology Department of the Bashkir State University.

Since 2015, Izmaylova has been actively engaged in fashion photography, styling and producing photo shoots. In 2016, she moved to Moscow, where she worked at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, co-organized the Forma festival, and collaborated with the 25Kadr Gallery. In 2019, she started studying at the Rodchenko Art School under Sergey Bratkov, and in 2022, she began her Master’s at the National School of Arts Paris-Cergy.

In her artistic practice, Alina Izmaylova explores the evidence of life’s imperfection, reinventing such evidence or finding unobvious connections between its examples: she works with found, almost unrecognizable, objects and elements, every-day and used things. In Alina’s works, there is a lot of a certain something that can be called “the poetic”—a fragile system of signs that bears witness to the ephemeral, the passing, the vanishing of forms and significations.

Lives and works in Paris.
